Examination schedule

Accepted Answer

A regular examination followed by one supplementary examination each year. Year 1, 2 and 3 examinations are held at the end of each academic year. A pre-council test is conducted before each council examination. A minimum of 50% in the pre-council test is required to qualify. Satisfactory classroom and clinical performance is required.

Repeat and attempts policy

Accepted Answer

Candidates who fail may progress to the next year pending clearance. A maximum of 6 years is allowed to complete the entire programme. Unlimited attempts are permitted within that 6-year period. All previous year papers must be cleared before the final examination. There is no partial pass — theory and practical are assessed separately.

Passing standards

Accepted Answer

Minimum 50% in each theory paper, separately. Minimum 50% in each practical paper, separately. Minimum 40% in the English paper only. A fail in either theory or practical means both must be re-appeared. The diploma is awarded only after all clinical requirements are completed.

Eligibility to sit the examination

Accepted Answer

Minimum 80% attendance in theory and practical in each subject. The Principal's certification of 11 months of course completion. Minimum 50% in the internal assessment of each paper. A complete record of practical experience maintained. Clinical and field requirements fully completed and documented.
